One million fewer medical consultations

The Minister of Health said that during the first half of the year there were one million fewer consultations than in the same period of 2019, when 31 million were made.

At the regular press conference to monitor the covid-19 pandemic, Marta Temido indicated that “no health system has been immune to a pandemic of this type in its ability to respond to non-covid diseases”.

“When we encourage non-face-to-face contact, we have to improve the ways in which users can access these”, she admitted, stating that telehealth in the National Health Service could be one of the areas to improve with European funds for the economic recovery of pandemic.
