The applications refer to land covering some 118,000 hectares of forested area, the Portuguese government said yesterday.
The office of the state secretary for forests and rural development told Lusa News Agency that the overall budget of €36 million is now being analysed. The office also said that most of the applications had been received from the Alentejo and Lezíria do Tejo regions.
