The resolution published today recommends "fare coordination and price reductions" of transport in connections between metropolitan areas and neighbouring inter-municipal communities.

The parliament asked the government to "consider the distribution of funds" of the Support Program for Fare Reduction "to ensure the means necessary for fare coordination" which will enable cheaper travel passes".

MPs also called on the government to "increase" the financial resources needed to implement these measures and to give "guidelines" to CP - Comboios de Portugal for a reduction in travel pass prices.

In the law,MPs call on CP to "consider" the creation of combined passes that link the train service with the new intermodal passes in the metropolitan areas, "safeguarding the compensation due" to CP.
