Due to some of our dogs having food intolerances we weren’t prepared to feed our dogs the majority of the commercially available foods. After lots of research we found Burns, a natural hypoallergenic food and so we took on the distributorship of Burns foods followed by Natural Dog Food Co. and Applaws. A few other brands have come into our fold since then but, as and when the ingredients were changed, these no longer came up to our standards and were dropped.
This is how Paws 4 Pets started and we realised that there were a lot of pet products that were not available here. We were the first company to introduce the Kong range of toys to Portugal. Our stock range grew from there and customer requests have further increased our range. Paws 4 Pets is a family-run business and we aim to research and try and get any products which our customer requires.
We started with a shop in Silves but moved to premises on the outskirts of Albufeira which provides much better parking and access for our customers. BUT we are not just a pet shop. We are available by phone, email or in store to answer any of your questions. We will research animal-related problems. We also have an on-line store and deliver to the whole of Portugal and Spain.
We continue to scour the market for good quality foods and research all before we try. We have recently introduced the new Natures Menu “Country Hunter” Freeze Dried Raw Meat food range. Our range of pet foods are based on REAL Meats with either Brown Rice or Potato as the carbohydrate source as wheat-based products are known to cause a lot of intolerances, allergies and skin problems in pets. None of our foods contain Wheat, Soya, Dairy, unspecified “Animal Fats” or Hydrolysed Animal or Vegetable proteins.
