"It is considered that it may be allowed, under certain conditions, to make equipment available for collective use", indicates the Government, in a diploma published in Diário da República, which changes some exceptional and temporary measures regarding the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the document, it was necessary to “find a balance between recreational activities practised on the beaches.”

In this way, this type of company can start making equipment available for collective use or use by more than two people simultaneously, making sure that certain conditions are being respected.

The first is the “non-occupation of the useful area of ??the area intended for bathing use”, whether for the permanent or temporary storage of equipment or even for the exercise of the activity related to the availability of equipment.

Also, those responsible for the rental of the materials must control and ensure that “they are only used by those to whom the equipment has been made available.” The person responsible for the company must also guarantee that the equipment is not being used more than one person unless the users are in the same group of people.”

Even so, companies must take into account “respect for the maximum capacity of the respective equipment”.

The materials, on the other hand, have to be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day and whenever there is a change of user, as is the case with other bathing equipment, such as outdoor showers, sunbeds or mattresses.
