The image has already been shared thousands of times over.
In a caption accompanying the photo of the shattered firefighters, who were resting as their vehicles refilled, Pedro Brás, who originally posted the image, wrote: “After a night and a day fighting the Góis Forest Fire we were entitled to 25 minutes of river beach, although it was covered by smoke.”
There has also been an outpouring of mourning for a fire-fighter belonging to the Castanheira da Pêra brigade, who died in hospital due to injuries sustained while fighting the fire.

Have I got this right?
Most, perhaps all, of these Amazing Totally Giving People do this for FREE!
The Government and Millionaires of Portugal need bringing to book - nothing anarchistic - you have had your time - now its time to redefine our financial-social-caring-relationship between each other - that picture does not represent any of those words

I wanted to make a donation for the victims and firemen .
But noone couldn^t give me an association I could transfer money. Even the Portuguese Embassadeur couldn't help me.
Very sad.

I witnessed the bravery of the Bombeiros and the soldiers many times between 2003-2012. To see the hordes of Bombeiros volunteers - clad just in red t shirt and cap - stood firm pointing hoses at the oncoming flames was breathtaking and humbling; too many of them pay the ultimate price. I pray Portugal gets some rain and a fall in temperature real soon.
