A collaboration between the two countries was formed after the Civil Guard of Spain requested extra support in the form of GNR (Portugal), as the vessel was sailing at a high speed on the Guardiana River.

Immediately a maritime team was dispatched using a High-Speed Craft (EAV) making it possible to intercept and recover the vessel which was already in Spanish territory, next to the Guardiana International Bridge.

Searches are still being carried out after crew members who were inside the vessel managed to escape in the Spanish territory leaving the narcotic products behind.

The vessel and the narcotics were delivered to the Civil Guard, a territorially competent authority which effected the seizure.
