Works on the second phase of the Porto Business Plaza are expected to get underway during the third quarter of the year and are to be completed by the autumn of 2020.

The plaza, which is located in the Bonfim area of the city, will include the development of the site into 17,000 square metres of leasable spaces over two floors, with the old cinemas also being transformed into a multipurpose space covering around 3,500 square metres.

Designed by architect Alexandre Burmester, with landscaping by architect Luís Alçada Baptista, the project was also designed to improve the pedestrian circulation in the area as well as offering modern service spaces.

The promoter of the project is investing 11 million euros in the redevelopment work which already has seen the conclusion of the bus terminal during the first phase of the project.

Duarte Corrêa d’Oliveira, from the Cushman & Wakefield office in Porton said: “Porto Business Plaza will fill the shortage of large service areas in the city centre, allowing large businesses to be attracted to the building. The construction of green spaces and the new plaza will also energise and revitalise this area of the city.”
