Users who are screened in the emergency service as low priority, namely with blue or green bracelets, will be referred to the health centre where they will have an appointment on the same day or the following day, this appointment scheduled by the hospital, the hospital said in a statement.


However, the referral will always be a user’s choice.


The hospital centre expects a “substantial improvement” in user satisfaction, as well as a decrease in the number of non-priority cases in the emergency service, which will improve both response times and quality of care.


The emergency service is not always the place with the fastest response for certain cases. At health centres, patients will be attended “by those who know them best, in the most appropriate place, with direct benefits also in the emergency service, whose means will be directed to those who most need urgent care”.
