Porto to have 20 more public drinking fountains by 2020

Porto city hall said on Thursday that the municipal water company Águas do Porto will install 20 new public drinking fountains throughout the city by the end of the first quarter of 2020.
In a statement on its official website, the municipality said that the municipal company Águas do Porto has started the installation of new equipment in the historic area and the eastern riverside, following a policy of rehabilitation of public fountains and installation of drinking fountains in pedestrian areas of the city.
The city council said that the aim is to promote the consumption of tap water in these places.
According to the municipality, the installation of 20 new drinking fountains should be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2020.
