According to Eurostat Portugal has the fourth highest figure in the community block of fatal accidents per 100 thousand workers, at 3.86.
In the European Union, in 2017, more than two million accidents of this type resulted in absences of more than four days from work with close to 3,000 accidents resulting in the death of workers.
