A win in their first-ever official meeting with Lithuania and a stumble of Serbia in Luxembourg, in a meeting also taking place on Tuesday, will leave Portugal with qualification practically guaranteed and with a good chance of reaching the top of the group.

Last Saturday's win in Belgrade against the Serbian national team (4-2), the first in this qualifiers, left the European champions with a free hand to reach the final round of the next European Championship, without having to go through the play-offs, a 'plan B' that they secured with their good campaign in the League of Nations.

Group B is led by Ukraine (13 points from five games), followed by Portugal (five out of three), Luxembourg (four out of four), Serbia (four out of four) and Lithuania (one out of four).

The first-ever Lithuanian-Portugal is scheduled to start at 9.45 p.m. (7.45 p.m. Lisbon time) and will be refereed by Dutchman Bas Nijhuis.
