Jota (16 minutes) and Pedro Gonçalves (50 and 80) scored the goals for the Portuguese team during the match held at Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar.

Portugal now have 18 points, six less than the leading Netherlands (with one more game), who scored 7-0 in Cyprus and have already secured qualification.

Norway, with one more match, is third with 10 points, followed by Belarus with eight, Cyprus (one more match) with seven and Gibraltar, which has not yet scored any points.

For the European Under-21 Championship, scheduled for 2021, Hungary and Slovenia are the nine qualifying group winners and the five best runners-up.
