The competition, which in recent years has been held at the Morgado Golf Course in Portimão, will bring together 144 players and will award prizes of €200,000.

The tournament, which is part of the ‘challenge’ circuit, the second division of European golf, was created in 1953 and is organised by the Portuguese Golf Federation.

This year, the event took place between 12 and 15 September in Portimão, and was won by Polish national Adrian Meronk.

The Royal Óbidos golf course (par 72) was designed by the former Spanish golfer Severiano Ballesteros.
