The Socialist rejection motion of the government programme with 123 votes from the Socialists and all the other left-wing parties against the 107 votes from the coalition implied the dismissal of the government.

The rejection of a government programme requires an absolute majority of the 230 seats in parliament.

The government remains as a caretaker until a new government is formed. No elections are possible until next summer as the president cannot call them in the last three months in office and the next president elected in January cannot call elections in the first six months in office.
