This time the president visited Silves, which normally at this time of year would be in the full throes of its famous Medieval Festival. He was given a guided tour of the historic heart of city by Mayor Rosa Palma, and stopped off at the popular Café Inglês restaurant. During his visit, which concluded with the usual dinner with Algarve mayors, he said he hoped the UK would soon lift restrictions and establish an air bridge with Portugal.
