The price of a flight from Portugal to the UK has soared as the country is expected to be added to the British government's quarantine list.

British Airways has seats available for 623 euros on Thursday, while the same journey can be made seven days later for just 156 euros. EasyJet has sold out all its flights from Faro to airports in Britain on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Airways' parent company warned restoring Portugal to the UK's quarantine list would cause "further chaos and hardship".

I understand the commotion around Brits needing to quarantine when returning to the UK. The beaches has been JAMMED PACKED!!
Why not act like civilized people instead!
It will be marvelous for all of us who enjoy the restful life in Portugal. The friendly Portuguese people and be able to show them the respect they deserve. Having the benefit of retirement on the Algarve I wouldn't SELL for Gold! The time after one tourist season to the next is by fare the best anyway!

I would ask this of all the people caught up in travel chaos, on your return to the UK go to any NHS staffroom or Funeral Parlour and tell them about your insignficant little problem of having to go without an overseas holiday for one summer. I am sure they will be happy to down tools and ignore the current reality in order to listen to you.
