PSP receive 48 new cars

Portugal’s PSP police service has this week taken receipt of 48 vehicles, the first batch to be delivered under a public tender which foresees the delivery of more than 2,000 cars for the country’s security and armed forced by 2021.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MAI), this is the largest procedure for centralised vehicle contracting since the centralised State Vehicle Pool system was implemented in 2008.
The assignment of these vehicles falls within the scope of the Infrastructure and Equipment Programming Law of the Security and Armed Forces and Services and involves a total investment of around 50 million euros.

The ceremony of delivery of the 48 vehicles to the PSP Police was chaired by the Minister for Home Affairs, Eduardo Cabrita at the PSP’s Lisbon Metropolitan Command.
