”Santa Clara Açores, Futebol SAD informs that the Santa Clara-Sporting game, of the fifth day of the 1st League, scheduled for 24 October, will have the presence of the public in the stands, similar to what had happened against of Gil Vicente”, reads the press release sent by the Azoreans.

The public permission in the stadium of São Miguel came after the League suggested to the Regional Directorate of Health of the Azores (DRS) to apply to the meetings of Santa Clara the regional rules, which allow the presence of the public in sporting events.

“Neither the Portugal League nor the Regional Direction of Health raised any objection to the presence of the public in the sports venue,” Santa Clara points out in a press release, referring to the game against Sporting.

The presence of the public will be limited to 10 percent of the maximum capacity of the venue (1,000 people in the case of São Miguel stadium).

Regardless of whether they are cohabitants or minors, all fans will have to be separated from each other by five seats.

“This decision will require all Azoreans to adopt behaviour of collective responsibility, as was the case in the game against Gil Vicente. We are totally convinced that the Azorean people will once again respond to the recommendations,” reads the statement.

Santa Clara, currently in fourth place, will welcome Sporting, sitting in third, at a time when both teams have seven points.

The match is scheduled for 5pm local time (6pm on the mainland), at São Miguel stadium, in Ponta Delgada.
