Public prosecutor's office requests trial of tour bus driver

Portugal’s public prosecutor's office has requested the trial of the bus driver who in April crashed in Santa Cruz (Madeira) with German tourists, for 29 crimes of negligent homicide, the Lisbon district attorney's office (PGDL) said

According to the note published on PGDL's website, the request for trial in a collective court also refers to three crimes of physical integrity due to negligence.

On 17 April, the crash of a tour bus on the Estrada da Ponta da Oliveira, in the parish of Caniço, killed 29 Germans - 17 women and 12 men – and injured 27, two of them Portuguese nationals.
