Rally driver returns positive doping test

Portuguese rally champion Bernardo Sousa, has confirmed that he had had a positive doping test, proving that he used a drug for reasons related to breathing difficulties.

"I can report that I was recently notified by FPAK [The Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation] of a positive result in an anti-doping test", the driver wrote in a publication on his official Facebook page.

The 2010 national champion has decided to leave the team he competed in the Azorean championship with because of this process.

"For reasons related to respiratory difficulties, I used an inhalable medication that improves bronchial and pulmonary activity. I now recognise that I took too much which resulted in a positive result", he said.
