Most of the company’s production comes from Europe (50%) and North America (49%).
In Europe, production rose 29% to 3.8 TWh, “because of a consolidation of the Portuguese wind consortium (ENEOP) assets, and a 17% increase in output in the rest of Europe as extra capacity came online and there was an 11% increase in Spain as a result of using more wind generation”, the company said.
In North America, output was 3.7 TWh, which was 32% more than in the first quarter last year, “proving the effect of added capacity and greater wind production”. Brazil also saw EDP Renováveis production go up19%, again because of wind power.
