Emergency unit – adults: The Alvor and Gambelas Hospitals will remain open daily, including the Hospital Particular da Madeira, for general medical care with the exclusion of COVID-19 patients.
The remaining Emergency Units of the HPA Health Group, will continue as before. However, some units have altered their opening times so patients are asked to check details before travelling to hospital.
The group are preparing the São Gonçalo Hospital in Lagos to receive COVID-19 patients. The opening times of the Emergency Unit, has also suffered alterations. Opening times will be Monday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Admission to the emergency Unit for medical care is always preceded by epidemiological screening and temperature control.
Emergency unit – paediatric: The Paediatric Emergency Unit will continue to be at the Gambelas Hospital and will be open 24/7, with the exclusion of COVID-19 patients.
Emergency unit – pregnant women: The HPA Gambelas Maternity is available 24/7 for monitoring pregnant women, as well as for deliveries. However, for safety reasons, both for the pregnant woman and baby, visits are not allowed either in the maternity ward or in the puerperium. For the same reason, a companion is also not allowed during delivery.
Treatment and follow-up of cancer patients: The Day Care Hospitals will continue follow-up and treatment of its patients, maintaining the maximum safety for the patients and staff.
Consultations, exams and treatment: The HPA Health Group will maintain face-to-face medical care availability provided it is considered urgent and important.
Dentistry: Routine appointments have been cancelled, but emergency dental care is available at the Alvor Hospital, Clínica Particular SIIPEMOR in São Brás de Alportel, Clínica Particular do Algarve – AlgarveShopping (Guia) and at the Centro Médico Internacional de Vila Real de Santo António.
