According to the INE, the year-on-year decline in the retail trade turnover index was two percentage points lower than in the previous month, with the non-food products index down 6.3 (-5.4 percent in July) and the food products index contracting 2.2 percent, accentuating the 0.2 percent drop in the previous month.

The employment, wages and hours worked indices showed year-on-year rates of change of -3.3 percent, -0.2 percent and -4.3 percent respectively (changes of -3.7 percent, 0.0 percent and -7.2 percent in July, in the same order), indicates the INE.
