The hotel has been receiving phone calls from the media but the staff have denied being aware of a possible transformation to a hospital.
Following Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani testing positive for Corona-virus, Cristiano Ronaldo quarantined himself in Madeira after returning to his home town of Funchal in the wake of his mother, Maria Dolores Aveiro, suffering a stroke.
Thankfully, there’s been no indication that Ronaldo or any of his family has been suffering with the condition and the sporting superstar has used his privileged position to help wage the war.
Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram page: “The world is going through a very difficult moment which demands the utmost care and attention from all of us. I speak to you today not as a football player, but as a son, father, a human being concerned with the latest developments that is affecting the whole world. It is important we all follow the advice of WHO (World Health Organisation) and the governing bodies on how we handle this current situation. Protecting human life must come above any other interests”.
