Ryanair has issued written assurances that cabin crew based in Portugal and three other European countries who took part in strikes last week will not face consequences.

In a note sent to cabin crew based in Portugal, the low-cost carrier clarified its position following letters it had sent that referred to consequences for staff who were absent during a two-day strike in July.

Ireland-based pilots staged their fourth strike in the past month last week, and were followed this Friday by those based in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium.
