Seven national teams prepare for world women’s football tournament

The 26th Algarve Cup, which began on Wednesday, will help the 12 participating national teams warm up for the FIFA Women’s World Cup this year, while Portugal aims for the UEFA Euro 2021 qualification.

Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Norway, China and Scotland are the seven qualifying teams for the World Championship. The Algarve is a challenging ‘appetizer’ for the competition, which is set to take place in France, between 7 June and 7 July.
