“About 3,000 health professionals were hired to combat covid-19 (…). We are more qualified, more prepared, with greater response in the NHS, both for covid activity and for non-covid activity. We must continue on this path, we will certainly continue to follow it”, said António Lacerda Sales.

According to the minister, who was speaking to journalists at the daily press conference on the balance sheet of the covid-19 pandemic in Portugal, “125 doctors, more than 900 nurses, 205 senior diagnostic and therapeutic technicians and more than 1,350 assistants were hired”.
