In the session, each footballer had a midfield for themselves, on the different pitches of Alcochete, and, when they coincided on the same pitch, they kept a distance of “at least ten metres”, said the club.
Sporting specified that “all the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health were obligatorily complied with and even increased”. “In that sense, no player was within 10 metres of another,” he said.
To accompany the return to work, the players counted on the advice of the physical trainer, Gonçalo Álvaro, and the head of the Performance Unit, Francisco Tavares, as well as doctor Nuno Loureiro.
“All the players took advantage of the possibility granted and respected the instructions given: they arrived, went to the different fields, ran with and without a ball and returned directly to their vehicles to return home”, informed Sporting.
The club also published images of some players in training on the official website, such as Mathieu, Sporar, Tiago Ilori, Luís Neto, Gonzalo Plata, Doumbia, Vietto or Battaglia.
This return also included Nuno Mendes, Joelson Fernandes, Eduardo Quaresma, Gonçalo Inácio, Matheus Nunes and Tiago Tomás.
Sporting occupies the fourth place in the I Liga, four points from the third place, Sporting de Braga, 17 from the second, Benfica, and 18 from the leader, FC Porto.
