St. Tiggywinkles comes to Algarve

This lovely model of St. Tiggywinkles Church made by Ken Nelms from Ferragudo has an interesting history.

The design began when Les Stocker MBE, founder of the St. Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital Trust in Haddenham, Aylesbury, contacted the model-making company Hobbies wanting a model of a Church.
As Hobbies didn’t have one, their designers started work to produce a model kit with a duel purpose. Firstly as a garden ornament and secondly as a hibernation home for hedgehogs. The model, built from wood panels, is extraordinarily

detailed.
The prototype model is now on display at the visitors’ centre at the Wildlife Hospital Trust, and now, thanks to Ken, we have one in the Algarve as well.
