State investment rose 20.6% in 2019

Portugal’s finance minister, Mario Centeno, said on Monday, during a hearing on the proposed State Budget for 2020 that public investment grew by 20.6% in 2019).

"I can inform you that this afternoon we will learn that in 2019 public investment increased by 20.6% in the central administration, and with a huge effort from investment financed from the state budget, that is, from taxes," Mário Centeno said in his initial speech in the Parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee.

This afternoon, the budget execution summary of the Directorate General of the Budget for December 2019 is to be published.
