Storm Barbara causes over 500 occurrences in 24 hours

The whole of mainland Portugal is under Orange weather warning today as storm Barbara passes through, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas.

Yesterday 13 mainland districts were under Orange warning as the storm moved in. The Civil Protection authority has registered over 500 occurrences caused by the stormy weather in the past 24 hours, mostly in the Lisbon region, and due to flooding and falling trees and structures.
