“TAP has invested a lot over the past year to renovate its service and products and it has seen a 26% increase in passenger numbers in the last three months. But despite all these victories, the company still has a massive challenge ahead of it: to gain efficiency and agility to compete in a more and more aggressive market. We are hiring people where they are needed and simultaneously trying to better align the skills with the business needs”, CEO, Fernando Pinto, said in a communiqué.

“No-one is going to be dismissed. The rescission programme is by mutual agreement, backed by financial packages and benefits”, he said.

Some groups of workers are not going to be included, namely those where we are going to be recruiting. "We are looking for about 20 new admissions in the areas that are growing faster, such as pilots, cabin crew, mechanics and staff who are in direct contact with the passengers", he added.
