Food Services
We are currently expanding our capacity to distribute food parcels, through new storage in order to increase our capability to respond. If you would like to get involved, please get in contact with us, as we are always looking for donations of non-perishables.
Legal, Psychological and educational guidance
With a psychologist, a solicitor, a lawyer and a social educator in our ranks of volunteers, people are donating their time to help using their skills. We are aiming at assisting families, in our community, and providing advice and help.

Christmas Projects – Angel Tree
Our Christmas projects are under way, we are at 90 days to deliver to 5,000 children a present and a piece of clothing, most likely the only gifts they will get this Christmas. From wrapping, to transport and delivery we are in need of volunteers; If you would like to know more, please follow us on our website or Facebook, and contact us for more news about our work and ongoing projects.
Thank you

Times ahead appear to be difficult for everyone and that is why organisations like The Salvation Army depend on people´s donations to continue to support those in need. Over the past four weeks we have shared a little of the unending work of The Salvation Army in the south of Portugal and our resilience to continue in difficult times.

Behind our capacity to help others and the many projects we are currently running, are the sponsors and enablers, whom I would like to thank. In the name of The Salvation Army, particularly for the work in the south of Portugal, I take this opportunity to thank our sponsors John Hammond for the opportunity to share in the People Pages in The Portugal News, thank you John and Julie Hammond, you are wonderful people who, over the years, have been supporting the work of The Salvation Army, through fundraising events, music projects and food drops during the pandemic. You have gone the extra mile, and have helped us in very difficult moments, allowing many to receive essential help to continue.

Thanks to CEO Richard Clingen of The Portugal News, to Brenda, and the fantastic team for the opportunity to share our work, ministries and make our current projects known.
Thank you
Luis Viriato (Captain)
