Thirteen districts on mainland Portugal are under orange weather warning today due to the forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorms, as storm Barbara passes through, according to the Portuguese Met Office (IPMA).

The effects of storm Barbara, including heavy rain, gusts of wind of up to 130 kilometres per hour in the highlands and rough seas, especially along the southern coast, will start to be felt from this afternoon.

The orange warning will be extended to all districts tomorrow.
