Meanwhile, a communiqué from the PJ stated that the men were found near Sintra, in an operation carried out this morning.

The men are suspected of the death of the son of a former PJ inspector on the night of December 28.

In the statement, the police said that they are carrying out steps to "fully investigate the involvement of the suspects" in the practice of that crime and are holding back further explanations until later.

The young man, the son of a former chief inspector of the PJ, was stabbed to death on the spot by a trio of robbers as he was on his way back from a restaurant near the Faculty of Science in Campo Grande, after he had offered resistance to the assailants.
