The Judiciary Police (PJ) seized more than two tons of cocaine and detained three men on suspicion of being part of a transnational criminal organization dedicated to the introduction of large quantities of drugs into Europe by sea.

In a statement, the PJ says that the operation 'Ice Cream', developed in recent days, involved the National Unit to Combat Drug Trafficking and the Tax and Customs Authority.

In the course of the operation, more than two tons of cocaine (about 2,300 kg) were seized and detained three men, aged between 34 and 50 years old "strongly indicted for being part of a transnational criminal organization dedicated to the introduction of large quantities of cocaine on the European continent".

"This action was the culmination of an international investigation, carried out by the Judiciary Police for several months and which had the collaboration of the Federal Police of Brazil", adds the PJ.
