Traditional flavours inspired by childhood

A new menu from Chef Tiago Bonito at Largo do Paço features locally sourced produce from Portugal with dishes inspired by his childhood.

The Michelin starred Largo do Paço restaurant, located in the boutique hotel of casa da Calçada Relais & Châteaux in Amarante, has launched a new menu from chef Tiago Bonito, featuring the very best in Portuguese ingredients and dishes.

Simple ingredients are combined with creativity in the new menu which takes a trip down memory lane to summer holidays spent by the coast.

"We work every day to prove that it is possible to bring tradition into fine dining, allowing us to incorporate the richness, the culture and the flavours of our country,” said chef Tiago Bonito.

“We feel fulfilled when we can awaken old memories in a client, of their daily life and their history and experiences, through innovative, provocative and creative dishes.

"Our secret lies in our respect for traditional recipes, in local seasonal products, in the use of the most innovative techniques and, of course, in the creativity that we put in to each dish," he concluded.

Chef Tiago Bonito is regarded as one of the most outstanding Chefsin Portugal, having won the title of Chef of the Year in 2011. Born in Carapinheira do Campo, he has worked in the Algarve and Lisbon.

Largo do Paço has been the recipient of several prizes and distinctions. In 2019, the restaurant was once again awarded the Michelin Star, while the restaurant is also on the list of the top 1,000 restaurants in the world (La Liste).
