Travel falls 64.9%

Residents in Portugal made 2 million trips between April and June, a year-on-year drop of 64.9%, but spent more nights away from home than usual, particularly in April and May.

This is according to new figures from the National Statistics Institute. According to the report of the Tourist Demand by Residents in the second quarter of 2020, tourist travel by residents decreased 59.1% in the national territory and practically did not exist (-98.5%, total 12.4 thousand) to foreign countries.
