Twenty-three people arrested for drug trafficking at Boom Festival

Twenty-three people 'mostly foreigners' have been arrested for drug trafficking at this year’s Boom Festival, which took place in Idanha-a-Nova in Castelo Branco, from 22 to 29 July.

GNR police staged an operation named ‘Operation Full Moon’ GNR to crack down on drug-trafficking and drug-taking at the event. Police said the majority of those arrested were foreigners. The alternative Boom Festival was named by US magazine ‘Rolling Stone’ as one of its ‘7 Wildest Transformational Festivals’.
