The show "730 Years of UC: 73 harps in Mondego", with artistic and musical direction by Nuno Feist, will start at 7 pm on 13 September, in the Pátio das Escolas of UC.

"It is a musical event of great symbolism, which promises to revisit the history of UC, of ??Portuguese poetry and music", says the organization in a statement sent today to the Lusa agency.

According to the source, the concert, adapted from an original idea by Christiano Bomfim and produced by UC, will have the participation of 73 national and foreign harpists, from the Tuna Académica Orchestra of UC (one of the oldest groups in the Academy), from guitarists Bruno Chaveiro (Portuguese guitar) and Paulo Soares (guitar from Coimbra), and singers Marta Alves, Valter Mira and Yola Dinis.

The presentation of the show will be in charge of Júlio Isidro, a well-known Portuguese TV host.

"It is a highly symbolic show, open to the city, the country and the world, which calls for a 'bold' dialogue between material and immaterial heritage (the noble space of the concert, Fado and the Portuguese Language), through a dynamic that interweaves the revisiting of the institution's history and culture, permeated by the sensitivity of artists who related to the UC, from Dom Dinis, Camões and Nemésio, to Torga, Alegre and José Afonso ", said, quoted in the statement, the vice -dean for Culture and Open Science, Delfim Leão.

UC says that the show will be held in compliance with the rules of social distance, wearing a mask and other measures to prevent and contain the risks of spreading covid-19.
