It was 75 years ago that Olhanense became the first team from the Algarve to reach the Cup Final where they lost by a single goal against Sporting Lisbon.

Other first round ties resulted in Esperança Lagos overcoming Lusitano GC (Evora) 1-0 whilst Louletano required a last minute strike from Erico Castro to beat FC Ferreiras.

Tie of the round involved Moncarapachense who travelled to Evora to play Juventude SC. With the score tied at 2-2 after extra-time it was the Moncarapacho team who held their nerve to eventually win the penalty shoot-out 9-8.

Louletano DC and SC Olhanense, both having won all their games this season, go head-to-head in the Campeonato Portugal at the Algarve Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) at 4pm.
