This year, for the first time, there will also be a pioneer wing foil race.

From noon on Saturday, 19 September until midnight, there will be 12 hours of competition in the water, around a circuit with one objective: to come first and obtain the status of “Water Man/Woman” or win the title “Water King”.

“We are very excited about this edition of the event, which will have several new features. One of them is the wing foil, a new water sport practiced with a wing and a board with hydrofoil. We now have five water sports in Water Kings. We will also have the usual second course reserved for participants with Hydrofoil, a technology that allows our athletes to fly fast over the water and test their speed in the waters of Lagos”, says Francisco Lufinha, world record holding kite surfer and the organiser of the event.

In a co-organisation of Câmara de Lagos and Lufinha Sports Events, the Water Kings shows the qualities of the city of Lagos as a destination for water sports, while offering an innovative and bold challenge to the athletes.

This edition Water Kings has the support of DocaPesca, BP Portugal, Sagres 0.0, Marina Club Hotel Resort, Clube de Vela de Lagos and Sopromar.
