With winter officially ending this past Monday, the weather bureau said that rainfall for the mainland was 69 percent of the average values.

While there were fewer raindrops, the Met Office said that temperatures were in line with existing averages, and was set at 9.91 degrees Celsius, which was 0.3 degrees above what is considered normal.

There were however unusually cold periods, with snow being recorded in the eastern Algarve back in January.
