A source from the Alentejo Litoral Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command explained to the Lusa agency that the operation “was resumed early in the morning, around 07:30”.

For now, six operators are involved, supported by a land vehicle from the Maritime Police, a lifeboat, and a jet ski from the Instituto de Socorro a Náufragos (ISN), he said.

On Saturday, the fisherman was underwater fishing, but, at around 22:00, the authorities were alerted to his disappearance.

The following day, the searches were also suspended at the end of the day without success, involving three forensic divers, ISN resources, and the Maritime Police, aided by a watercraft, two boats, two land vehicles, as well as an air vehicle of the Air Force.

The commander of the Maritime Police of Sines, Luís Filipe Duarte, told Lusa that the searches would continue today by land and sea.
