SNPVAC will advance with prior notice of a strike at work at TAP for seven days, between January 25 and 31.

“We respect and regret the SNPVAC decision and continue to do everything possible to reach an agreement that serves the best interests of the country, our customers, cabin crew, and TAP”, said an official source of the air carrier.

According to the union's note, "in compliance with the decision taken at the emergency general meeting on December 6, point 2", which defined the "scheduling of a minimum of five days of strike to be carried out until January 31 on defined dates by the management and communicated to the associates 24 hours before the entry of the notice of strike", the president of the board of the general assembly (AG) of the union structure said that "he was informed by the direction of the SNPVAC that a notice will be entered of 7 (seven) days of strike, corresponding to the 25th to the 31st of January, inclusive".

"I appeal, from now on, for everyone's adherence so that, once again, we can give a full note to the company https://www.flytap.com/pt-pt/ of our union around the dissatisfaction regarding the matters addressed and deliberated at the GA on November 3, which constitute our legitimate claims", indicates the same statement.

The SNPVAC general meeting rejected TAP's proposal on December 29, maintaining its intention to hold a five-day strike until January 31, a union source told Lusa at the time.

It should be recalled that this union carried out a strike by TAP crew members on the 8th and 9th of December, which led the airline to cancel 360 flights and had an estimated total impact of eight million euros.
