The band, comprising lead singer Julia Hammond with guitarists Roger Guppy and Barbara Leitch played to a full house who entered into the Christmas spirit with evident enjoyment. The first half was rounded off by a guest appearance by The Campus Choir, formed especially for the occasion, whose hard work and dedication showed in the quality of their performance. The event would not have been possible without the support of Michelle at Campus and Amilcar and his first-rate team who ensured that the evening ran smoothly and made certain that a great time was had by all.

As always there was a more serious side to the evening which was to raise funds for two good causes close to the hearts of the band. The €6,125 raised will be divided between the Vila Sol Alzheimers Day Care Centre, which provides stimulating activities and respite care for sufferers from this dreadful disease and their families, and the São Francisco Kennels which has recently been badly hit by Parvo virus. Heartfelt thanks go out to all who provided raffle prizes as well as Quinta do Lago Golf, Leanda Caroll, Sari Winkworth from The White and Green Company, and Amanda Holden for their wonderful auction donations.

Julia Hammond, whose excellent organisational skills made the event possible, and the band would like to wish all their supporters a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to seeing you all again in 2023!
