The
app has over two million users in Ireland, with most users pairing the app with
a primary traditional bank account.
The
switch to Irish IBANs comes after the company began operating as a bank here.
This, combined with the new IBANs, will make it easier for users to use their
Revolut accounts to be paid by their employer, as well as to pay bills and
direct debits.
“We’re
proud to be opening our Irish branch soon. With over two million customers in
Ireland, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our customers’
experience,” said Joe Heneghan, CEO of Revolut Europe.
“Our
customers can get their salaries paid directly into Revolut hassle-free, easily
make direct debits, and more with the help of an Irish IBAN.
"We
recommend that our customers keep an eye out for an email from us over the
coming weeks, as we roll out the IBAN migration of our customers in Ireland,”
he added.
