Turkey's authorities blame the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) for Sunday's attack, which left at least six dead and more than 80 injured. Turkish police announced on 14 November that the prime suspect in the Istanbul bombing is a Syrian national who reportedly received orders from the PKK in Kobane, Syria, to place the bomb. The PKK, banned on Turkish territory, is one of Turkey's main targets in the border area with Iraq and Syria.
