In a statement, Carris mentions that it is planned to reinforce routes 201, 202, 206, 207, 208, and 2010, of the early morning network, namely in Cais do Sodré, Rossio and in Santa Apolónia/Avenida Infante D. Henrique.

The company also adds that the 15E route will be carried out with articulated trams until the end of the service.

“The special timetables for the routes, as well as the traffic conditions arising from the festivities, can be consulted at carris.pt”.

Also today, Metropolitano de Lisboa informed that it will close the Terreiro do Paço station, on the Blue line, at 18:00 on Saturday, December 31st, reopening only at 06:30 on Sunday, January 1st.

In a statement, the transport company alleges "security issues", as part of the New Year's Eve festivities scheduled for Praça do Comércio, where national and foreign artists such as Cuca Roseta, Bonga and Samuel Úria will perform.

The Lisbon Metro suggests Cais do Sodré or Baixa Chiado stations, on the Green line, as alternatives, which will be open until 01:00 (usual closing time) on January 1st.

On the night of December 31st, the metro will be running until 01:00, with six carriages on all lines.

In Porto, the subway will be operational throughout New Year's Eve, with the exception of the airport line, which closes at 01:00.

New Year's Eve festivities in Porto take place at Queimódromo, due to the metro works in downtown Porto, with performances by Fernando Daniel, Diogo Piçarra and Moullinex.
